Top 9 Real Estate Technology Conferences in 2024

Published by Brian E Adams on

In-person conferences have made a complete comeback since COVID.

That is great news for karaoke machines everywhere.

There are more real estate technology conferences than you can likely make in a single year, and the number is growing! It is emblematic of just how hot this sector of the industry is.

If you are a tech junkie, vendor, or CTO, below are the must-see conferences for you in 2024.

This list is not limited to residential real estate conferences but includes opportunities to learn about the burgeoning “proptech” (property technology) industry that is changing the way we live.

Inman Connect Conferences

  • Connect Miami, May 21-22
  • Luxury Connect, July 29-30
  • Inman Connect Las Vegas, July 30-Aug 1
  • Connect Austin, October 9

Inman has numerous conferences throughout the year, which are must-sees for brokers, especially tech-savvy real estate agents. Nobody better ties the emerging tech trends to the boots-on-the-ground realities of our business. You’re sure to go home with takeaways on lead generation, marketing, business best practices, and the threats and opportunities of the changing industry landscape.

Inman is an online subscription real estate magazine that focuses on numerous topics, but often with an emphasis on technology trends. Their conferences likewise feature an emphasis on technology and how it is disrupting real estate for better or worse.

CRETech Conferences

  • CREtech London, May 8-9
  • CREtech New York, November 13-14

CRETech is the number one resource on commercial real estate technology. Their events feature panels on M&A activity in proptech, a synopsis of activity in the capital markets, and speakers from firms like Greystar, Lightbox, and Accruent.

RESO Technology Summit

  • Spring Technology Summit: Birmingham, April 16–18
  • Fall Conference: Frisco, TX, October 22–24

Are you pumped to talk about data standards in real estate? The Real Estate Standards Organization conference is for you!

While that might sound boring to 99.9% of human beings, the reality is that RESO is the Ground Zero for the coming technology revolution in real estate. The possibilities have only just begun and the real estate data industry is just a baby. I truly believe this.

RESO has two conferences a year, perfect for anyone in the brokerage, MLS, or vendor industry to get their nerd game on.

T3 Summit

  • April 22-24, Scottsdale, AZ

The T3 Summit is the only invite-only conference on this list, oriented toward industry leaders, CEOs of leading real estate companies, top producers, and C-suite executives. So don’t try showing up without a ticket.

T3 Sixty, the management and consulting organization that sponsors the event, was originally RealSure and Swanepoel T3 Group. They are the ones who compile the Swanepoel Power 200, a list of the top influencers and leaders in the real estate industry, so you know they know whom to invite.

World Real Estate Forum

  • June 17-18, Cambridge, MA

Hosted by the MIT Center for Real Estate, the World Real Estate Forum is a very high-level view of the real estate industry, including global trends.

And coming from MIT, you know it’s going to be techy. The previous forums included tech showcases and topics such as “UI/UX: customer-driven tech for real estate” and “‘Smart Zones’ and the user interface of real estate”.

The Gathering

  • April 21-24, Scottsdale, AZ

Beginning in 2023, HousingWire merged The Gathering of Eagles with the HousingWire Annual conference and is not just “The Gathering”. The three-day annual conference is designed as a gathering for CEOs, COOs, and other senior management for high-level industry strategizing and trends.

Past events have featured speakers like George W Bush, Peyton Manning, and a who’s who of industry leaders like Gary Keller, Rich Barton, and Robert Reffkin.

NAR

  • November 8-10, Boston, MA

The National Association of Realtors needs no introduction. The Realtor’s conference expo is a great place to dive into the latest trends in the tech world. NAR’s vendor expo is the place to be for any new tech startups or companies serious about their place in the real estate industry.

In addition to the main annual conference, NAR has numerous additional meetings and events across the country that may be worth your time.

Local state conferences are also excellent opportunities to learn more about real estate tech, particularly the vendor expos usually on the third day of the conferences. Many state convention dates conflict, but the largest associations like California, Texas, Florida, and New York are likely worthwhile destinations for the tech-focused agent. While Austin is increasingly growing as a hub of real estate technology companies, California’s Reimagine! conference is still the premium state destination for real estate tech updates and education.

New York Real Estate Tech Week

  • TBD, New York City

This event takes place throughout New York City including panels, roundtables, and new startup demos for real estate professionals, with a focus on the broader, even international world of real estate property technology.

The previous even included PropTech awards in which companies like Reonomy, SquareFoot, and Fifth Wall were award recipients.

IMN

imn annual sfr forum
  • May 20-22, Miami, FL

It’s not obvious what “Information Management Network” has to do with real estate. But IMN hosts the quintessential conference for institutional landlords in the US. They host other events for built-to-rent (BTR), short-term rentals (STR), and private equity topics.

You’ll run into VPs and directors from all the major landlords: AMH, Tricon, Invitation Homes, Progress Residential, and more.

Any brokers with aspirations to work with these institutional single-family investors will find a connection or two here!

Conclusion

Real estate conferences provide a wealth of networking opportunities and a chance to get outside your local bubble.

I highly recommend making at least your local state convention, as it is usually a close and affordable first step to keeping up to date on the world of real estate technology.

And then your next step, there are numerous opportunities to do some traveling on the company credit card while adding more tools and knowledge to your knapsack. Your real estate business cannot but help to improve with more exposure to the industry trends and tools.
