22 Instagram Bio Examples for Real Estate Agents in 2023
150 characters is not a lot of space to capture everything about you.
But that is all the space you are allowed in your agent bio on your Instagram account.
For perspective, the first sentence of the Declaration of Independence is 394 characters, over twice the allowed character count for an Instagram bio!
I’ve stolen these examples from real estate business Instagram accounts that are successfully building an audience.
Real Estate Instagram Bio Template
Here are some of the ingredients that the best Instagram bios for real estate agents have in common.
- Description. What do you do? Don’t leave people confused. Simply putting “REALTOR” in your name may be enough!
- Location. What area do you serve? “LA Real Estate Agent” is enough to satisfy both bullets in as few characters as possible.
- Value Proposition. What is your mission and value proposition? Examples below include “Buy with Confidence, Sell wtih Success!” or “We Believe in Real Estate That Does More”.
- Personality. Show some personality. What are your hobbies? What else, other than real estate, is going to be in your account? Examples below include “Dog Mom”, “Woman+Wife+Mommy”, and “Vegan Family”.
- Brand Hashtag. Does your real estate company have a brand or a catchphrase? Turn it into a hashtag and include it in your bio and all your posts. Maybe even across social platforms! For example, #TeamBC is Bryan Casella’s hashtag for his team.
- Call to Action. What is the next step you want visitors to take? Usually, that is clicking on your link. Examples below include “👇 Resources for Buyers, Sellers, & Agents”, pointing to the Linkree link. You can also add a custom call to action button.
- Link. You get one link. That’s only a single landing page to send folks to. Your website might not be optimized as a landing page. And how do you differentiate between buyers and sellers? The popular answer for Instagram users is to use Linktree. It is a single page where you can create your tailored calls to actions.

Instagram Bio Best Practices
- New Headshots. Your photo is part of your bio. Having a captivating and photogenic picture of yourself is a good place to start.
- Creativity. Feel free to get creative in your bio. It’s supposed to show your personality! Being different is good. I wouldn’t sacrifice the call-to-action and letting everyone know you are in real estate. But it doesn’t take many characters (or ANY) to meet that minimum. Have fun!
- Emojis. Emjois work well in bios! They communicate an entire work with a single character! For example: 👋🏼👀🏠🤩🤝🏼🔑🥰. You can also use emojis as bullets like UpgradeYourShell does, or use them in your call-to-action.
- Branded Hashtags. You might want to consider a brand hashtag, specific to you and your business. For example, Bryan Casella has #TeamBC that he and his team uses on posts.
Linktree
Instagram only gives you one link in the bio.
Lots of real estate professionals get around this by using Linktree.
Linktree is a simple landing page like the one above. You can send people to your website, YouTube, Facebook, and landing pages for home buyers or sellers.
Having multiple links allows you to appeal to people who want to either buy or sell property, are just interested in a home valuation, or want to get to know you more, personally. You can also send them out to your other social media channels like YouTube or Facebook, if those are your main channels over Instagram.

Creating a NAR and State Law Compliant Instagram
- Use REALTOR Correctly. Only use it with your name and not your geography. E.g. BrianAdams_REALTOR is good, but KilleenTXREALTOR is bad.
- Don’t Use Superlatives with “Realtor”. When choosing an Instagram name and handle, you probably want to be mindful of some of the same pitfalls as when selecting a website domain name.
- Advertise the Brokerage. Be sure you are calling out your brokerage in Instagram posts and your bio. This can be as simple as a hashtag, like #exprealty. Or, just include it in your handle!
- Be Careful Sharing Other People’s Listings. Chances are you are not the listing agent for every beautiful home in your area. You will generally need to advertise the listing agent when sharing listing photos that are not your own, and should consider getting their permission first.
Conclusion
You are on your journey to Instagram success!
Instagram is one of the largest social media networks, popular among the next generation of home buyers and sellers, and is a solid source of real estate leads for those who are consistent with it.
